Thomas Jefferson Specialty Care Pavilion to Rise in Market East, Center City
The year 1825 marked the establishment of the Medical Department of Jefferson College in Philadelphia, an affiliate of Jefferson University. Today, Jefferson Health is a major developer and tenant in the Market East district of Center City, and the institution’s many buildings dominate the neighborhood where the university’s namesake penned the Declaration of Independence. The health services provider plans to bring another structure to the area, across from the iconic PSFS Building. The Thomas Jefferson Specialty Care Pavilion at 1101 Chestnut Street, designed by Ennead Architects and Stantec, will stand around 400 feet tall and contain around 462,000 square feet of floor space, over 300 exam rooms, and numerous medical services.
