A zoning permit has been filed for the construction of a multi-family structure at 252 North 61st Street in Haddington, West Philadelphia. The property, currently a vacant lot, sits on the west side of the block between Race Street and Vine Street. City Block Acquisition XI is the listed owner.

At the moment, few details are known about the development, aside from the footprint span of 1,250 square feet, which suggests that the development will be a low-rise building with two to four units.

Despite its modest scale, the proposal is notable for being the first new development on the block in the postwar era and one of the first in the surrounding area. The neighborhood features widespread preservation of its prewar building stock.

The 30 bus stops around the corner at Vine Street and North 61st Street. The 60th Street station on the Market-Frankford station and Cobbs Creek Park both sit within a five- to 10-minute walk within the property.
