Permits have been filed for the construction of a two-family structure at 1727 North Croskey Street in the Cecil B. Moore neighborhood in North Philadelphia. The structure, which will replace a vacant grass lot, will feature a cellar and a roof deck and will not exceed 38 feet in height. Uncle BF LLC is the listed owner.
The property sits on the east side of the street about mid-block between Cecil B. Moore Avenue to the south and West Montgomery Avenue to the north. The block is predominantly residential, consisting of two-story rowhomes, a church near the proposal site, and a five-story apartment building across the street. King Center, which includes the Martin Luther King Adult Center and Recreation Center with basketball courts, a baseball field, and a playground, sits a block to the east.
The property is located on the western periphery of the general Temple University area, which sits half a mile to the east. The university is one of the primary catalysts for the ongoing surge development in the surrounding area.
