Permits have been issued for the construction of a four-story residential building at 1851 North 17th Street in Cecil B Moore, North Philadelphia. The 6,375-square-foot building will yield three apartments and will feature a roof deck accessible via multiple access structures. Construction costs are estimated at $800,000.
The narrow parcel is currently vacant, one of the only such open lots on the block, and spans the width of a typical rowhome. The new building will greatly surpass the density of its prewar neighbors.
Nearby transit access is offered to the Broad Street Line via Cecil B Moore Station. Temple University is also easily within walking distance, as the edge of the campus is only a few blocks from the property. The new residents of the building will be able to enjoy and support the many businesses and eateries that are based in the Temple Area.
A Construction timeline for the project is unknown.
