Permits have been issued for an extension for a three-story prewar rowhouse at 3926 Haverford Avenue in Mantua, West Philadelphia. The three-story addition, which will rise at the rear of the existing structure, will add six residential units and 1,200 square feet of space to the property, bringing up the total to 4,200. The project cost is estimated at $45,000.

The structure features a green-painted brick façade and a brown cornice. A small porch is located at the front.

The overall density increase is relatively minor, yet it still contributes to local growth. Development in the neighborhood was a rarity just a few years ago, yet it is now seeing a large volume of permits being issued for multi-family structures. Residents will have proximate access to University City immediately to the south, the route 10 trolley that runs on nearby Lancaster Avenue offers transit access to Center City.

No completion date is known yet.
