Philadelphia YIMBY’s recent site visit has confirmed the completion of construction work at a five-story, 35-unit building at 101 West Oxford Street in Olde Kensington, near the border of Fishtown. The development features ground-floor commercial space, parking and storage space in the basement, and a roof deck and a green roof at the top of the structure.

The building, clad in brick on the lower level and horizontal siding on the floors above, fits well within the dense neighborhood that stretches along the elevated tracks of the Market-Frankford Line. The retail space, which is yet to open at the time of this writing, promises to provide much-welcome pedestrian activity at the sidewalk.

The Berks Station on the Market-Frankfort subway line sits within an eight-minute walk to the north, and the Girard Station, along with the route 15 trolley on Girard Avenue, is situated within a ten-minute walk to the south. Palmer Park sits within a three-minute walk to the northeast.

Only the ground floor facade is brick, and it is marred by graffiti.
