Permits have been issued for the construction of a new residential building at 5429 Market Street in the Haddington neighborhood of West Philadelphia. The new development will replace a vacant triangular lot with a three-story multifamily structure. The project site is located at the southeast corner of North Conestoga Street and Market Street.
The total construction cost is listed at $670,000, with the general construction cost specified at $600,000 and $70,000 allocated for excavation.

The project is being developed by 5426-28 Market Str Development Group LLC. Designblendz Architecture LLP is listed as the architect of record. D and V Contractors Inc. is the listed contractor.
The project will bring a total of seven residential units to the site, along with two off-street accessory parking spaces. The structure will include a cellar and will span a total of 6,650 square feet of construction space.
The scope of work was authorized on June 24, 2025. The site falls within the CMX-3 zoning district and did not require any zoning variances. A zoning permit for new construction has been issued.

The development will rise to a height of 31 feet at the roof level, with a 32-foot-6-inch parapet. The lot spans approximately 2,086 square feet, with 80 percent lot coverage. A proposed curb cut will provide vehicular access from North Conestoga Street.
The property is located along a commercial corridor with access to multiple SEPTA routes and regional transit connections. The project is expected to contribute to the ongoing residential growth along the Market Street corridor in West Philadelphia.
