Permits have been filed for the construction of a single-family structure at 2505 North Mascher Street in West Kensington. The building will replace an overgrown lot with a metal fence surrounding the property. The attached structure will include a roof deck. The site, which sits close to the corner of North Mascher Street and West Cumberland Street, is owned by NHA Development LLC.
The plot is positioned between a vacant lot to the south and a three-story rowhouse to the north. The new building will span a footprint of 539 square feet.
The sizeable Waterloo Playground sits directly behind the property at 2502 North Howard Street at the block interior. The playground features two basketball courts, two themed playgrounds, and a public pool that opens during the summer. The closest school to the property is the Hunter Elementary School, which is adjacent to the Front Street and York Street stop of the XVP9+F7 bus. The York-Dauphin Station at the Market-Frankford SEPTA line, located several blocks to the southeast, is the closest station to the property. The Huntingdon Station is also located nearby to the east.
