Demolition permits have been filed for a three-story structure at 3246 Kensington Avenue in Kensington. The prewar structure, located near the corner of Kensington Avenue and East Westmorland Street, once featured retail at the ground floor and residential space on the floors above, and has sat boarded up and abandoned since some time between late 2014 and early 2015. The property is under the ownership of KCT Properties I LLC.

The three story building is in a rundown condition yet still features most of its original façade above the ground floor, including ornamented bay windows and a cornice. Many of the buildings on the block have been demolished over the preceding years.

The building stands near the border of Kensington and North Central Philadelphia to the west. The elevated Market-Frankford SEPTA line runs in front of the building. The Allegheny Station is located a block away, at the corner of East Allegheny Avenue and Kensington Avenue. At the same corner just under the Allegheny Station is the Kensington Avenue Bus Station, serving lines 3, 89, and MFO. Several blocks to the northeast of the property is the Harrowgate Park that spans nearly 200,000 square feet.
