Permits have been filed for the demolition of a vacant two-story single-family dwelling at 6542 Allman Street in Elmwood Park, Southwest Philadelphia. The property is located between South 65th Street and South 66th Street and will be torn down as part of the City of Philadelphia Demolition Program at a cost of $15,500. The property is owned by Anthony A. Musumeci Antonietta. The contractor listed for the work is Pedro Palmer Construction Inc.
The is building clad in brick on the ground floor and shingles on the floor above, with the door and the windows boarded up with plywood. Parts of the roof decking are missing. When demolition is complete, an erosion control mat with seed on lot will be placed on the site and stucco will be added to the lot walls of 6544 and 6540 Allman Street. No sidewalk replacement will be carried out.
The 13 trolley stops a block away at South 65th Street and Chester Street. The Catherine Elementary School, located at 6600 Chester Avenue, sits down the block to the southwest, next to the McCreesh Playground and Skatepark.
