Construction is progressing quickly on Liberty Triangle at 1102-48 North 2nd Street in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia. The project will include 84 residential units within two separate structures. The buildings will stand up to six floors tall on an irregularly-shaped site formed by the diagonal Germantown Avenue. The project also features ground floor retail. For more renderings and analysis on the project, check out YIMBY’s detailed report published in November.
Since our last article, major progress has been made on the project, which is now taking its final, recognizable shape. The signature triangular corner structure is topped out and fully framed. Windows have been installed on the structure save for the ground floor. Façade work will soon be underway.
The northern structure of the project lags farther behind in construction progress, with foundation work recently completed and framing only beginning. The first floor is framed in steel, while the upper floors will be framed in wood.
The construction site is situated in one of the most prominent properties in the neighborhood. The northern portion of the site is easily seen from Girard Avenue, while Second Street provides a view down the entire eastern portion of the site.
Transit access is located just steps away from the site via the route 15 trolley on Girard Avenue and the Girard station on the Market-Frankford SEPTA line.
