New permits have been issued for the construction of a four-story, nine-unit residential building at 5143 Irving Street in Walnut HillWest Philadelphia. YIMBY first shared the news of the development back in November, and the latest filings provide new information. The building will contain 12,530 square feet of floor space and will cost an estimated $1,632,000 to build. Two units will feature private roof decks.

The development will replace a decrepit, vacant two-story structure. Demolition permits have not been issued yet, so it is unlikely that construction of the new building will start any time soon. The building features a brown brick façade with bricked-in windows on the second floor that have since been plastered up.

The building will be located just off of 52nd Street, the area’s major commercial artery with a large variety of food joints and businesses. Malcolm X Park is located three short blocks to the south. The 52nd Street Station on the Market-Frankford SEPTA line sits within seven short blocks to the north.

No completion date is not yet known for the project.
