Construction is progressing rapidly at 629-33 West Girard Avenue, a six-story, 36-unit mixed-use development in Ludlow, North Philadelphia. YIMBY shared news of the development last December, stating that permits were issued for the structure. A commercial space will be located on the ground floor. Tester Construction is the contractor.
Since YIMBY’s last post, the core has risen multiple stories off the ground, and steel framing is in progress at the ground floor. The building may top out by summertime.
The building is replacing a formerly vacant property at a prominent location on a busy commercial corridor. The retail space and the residential units will be an improvement for the area.
No completion date has been announced, though construction may be finished by early 2022.
