Permits have been issued for Station Square at 308-10 West Chelten Avenue in Germantown, Northwest Philadelphia. Designed by Coscia Moos Architecture, the development will hold 49 residential units. YIMBY recently shared news the project when renderings for the development were revealed. Permits offer new information, such as the fact that accessory parking will be included in the development. The building will hold a total of 42,459 square feet of space and will cost $6.5 million to build.
The design will feature a primarily brick façade with metal cladding, as well as a mural. For a more in depth look at the design, check out the previously mentioned article.
Since permits have now been issued, construction may begin at any time. The development could end up showing one of the fastest proposal to construction timelines, as the project was first announced earlier this month, and may begin construction by the end of the same month.
The location of the project is perhaps one of the most intriguing facts about the development. The development is situated directly adjacent to transit to regional rail via Chelten Avenue station at the western end of Germantown. The neighborhood has began to see development start flowing in in the form of multiple multi-family and mixed-use proposals. This project may be one of the first to be completed in the neighborhood, and may potentially become a catalyst for a new commercial sector in the currently suburban-style area around the station.
