A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has observed that construction continues at a steady pace at 300 Christian Street, a multi-family building in Queen VillageSouth Philadelphia. Designed by Ambit Architecture, the new building will rise three stories tall and hold 30 residential units, as well as underground parking for 11 cars and 14 bicycles. The project will include a roof deck.

At the moment, the structural envelope for the three-story building is complete, although the project still awaits facade installation. Wide floor-to-ceiling windows will provide ample sunlight for the interiors, while their vertical sectioning adds a certain sophisticated appeal to the project that helps it fit into the predominantly prewar surroundings.

The development is situated on the southwest corner of Christian and South 3rd streets. South Street runs within an under ten-minute walk to the north, and the Delaware River waterfront may be reached via a ten-minute walk to the east. The route 57 bus stops at the intersection where the building is situated.

That will leave 25 people driving around trying to find a parking spot in an already crowded area. Good planning!
