Two massive tower cranes have been erected at One uCity Square in University City, West Philadelphia. Designed by ZGF Architects and developed by Ventas Inc., the building is a part of a 14-acre mega project, dubbed uCity Square. Out of the designs released so far, One uCity Square will be the center of attention as it has the most eye-catching design. The building will top out at a full height of 250 feet and 13 stories. The tower will include office and lab space, with Century Therapeutics and Integral Molecular as tenants, as well as retail space.

In the last update from March, excavation of the foundation has wrapped. The concrete work for the foundation was underway, with crews pouring the reinforced concrete walls that will support the structure above. Caisson drill rigs and Bay Cranes sat all around the site, moving the soil out and preparing for the start the structure. A dirt ramp connected to North 37th Street was still present in the site to assist machinery with moving the soil out, which would eventually wrap with excavators on Street level digging out the ramp.

By now, the cranes are visible from the Spring Garden Street Bridge, along with the cranes at ANOVA at uCity Square (3700 Lancaster Avenue). A blue and white crane stands on the north side of the site, and a taller red crane stands on the east side. The concrete work for the foundation appears complete, and the structure will likely start rising soon.

The building was originally scheduled for completion in 2022, but an earlier construction pause may push the completion to 2023.
