Permits have been filed for the demolition of a vacant two-story prewar rowhouse at 7112 Upland Street in Elmwood Park, Southwest Philadelphia. The former single-family dwelling will be torn down as part of the City of Philadelphia Demolition Program at a cost of $10,413. Rivera Samuel Cardona is the listed owner. Monticello Contractors Inc. is the listed contractor.

The building, which features a covered porch and a decorated cornice, is in an extremely dilapidated state with overgrown vegetation in the front and surrounding the property. Once the demolition is complete, as part of the job, an erosion control mat with seed on lot will be installed.

The 11 trolley stops at the corner of Woodland Avenue and 71st Street two short blocks to the southeast of the property. A block further to the southwest is the Simons Recreational Center at 7200 Woodland Avenue, which was built around ten years ago as part of a larger complex. Several blocks to the southeast is Elmwood Park.
