Demolition permits have been filed for 2019 Fernon Street in the Point Breeze neighborhood of South Philadelphia. The building to be demolished is a two-story single-family structure with a cellar that is currently unoccupied and boarded up. The property is located near the corner of Fernon Street and South 20th Street and is owned by Urban Living 6 LLC.
Documents call for a manual, rather than machine-driven, demolition process. The demolition will be carried out in compliance with a violation case on the property.
The site is located a block west of Ralph Brooks Park, an L-shaped parcel that includes a basketball court and a playground, as well as some greenery. The Tasker-Morris Station of the Broad Street SEPTA line sits several blocks to the east.
