Permits have been filed for the demolition of a vacant two-story prewar rowhouse at 1450 North 54th Street in Hestonville, West Philadelphia. The former single-family dwelling is located at the southwest corner of Media Street and North 54th Street and will be torn down as part of the City of Philadelphia Demolition Program at a cost of $11,989. The contractor listed for the work is FH Demolition.

The brick-clad structure has sat vacant for over a decade, with windows and doors boarded up. The work includes the installation of an erosion control mat with seed on lot and a 15-foot-long chain link fence at the rear of the lot once the demolition is complete. No stucco or sidewalk work is included.

The 10 trolley is located one long block to the north on Lansdowne Avenue and North 54th Street. A block east of the property is Mastery Charter School Shoemaker Campus at 5301 Media Street, with Conestoga Park located a block further to the east.
