Permits have been filed for the demolition of a vacant two-story prewar rowhouse at 4995 West Thompson Street in Cathedral Park, West Philadelphia. The former single-family dwelling is located on the northeast corner of Thompson Street and North 50th Street and will come down as part of the City of Philadelphia Demolition Program at a cost of $23,000. The owner of the property is Thompson Street Properties. The contractor listed for the work is Mangual Demolition Inc.

The building is in a dilapidated condition, with a patched-up brick façade, a boarded-up door, and shattered windows. When the demolition work is complete, stucco will be added to the side of 4993 West Thompson Street next door and the sidewalk will be replaced on the North 50th Street side of the property. An erosion control mat with seed on lot will be placed on the site.

The 10 trolley runs on Lancaster Avenue a block to the east. The 15 trolley runs on Girard Avenue a block to the south. The 52 bus stops at North 52nd Street two short and one long block to the west. Conestoga Park sits within a five-minute walk to the northwest.
