Permits have been filed for the demolition of a vacant two-story rowhouse at 2155 North Newkirk Street in Strawberry Mansion, North Philadelphia. The prewar single-family dwelling is located between West Susquehanna Avenue and West Diamond Street and will be torn down as part of the City of Philadelphia Demolition Program, with a cost of work of $12,222. The property is owned by the Redevelopment Authority of Philadelphia. The contractor listed for the work is Pedro Palmer Construction Inc.

The building is a clad in brick painted red, with a cornice at the top. When the demolition work is complete, stucco will be added to the to-be-exposed wall at 2157 North Newkirk Street next door. An an erosion control mat with seed on lot will be added to the site and the sidewalk in front of the property will be replaced.

The 7 bus stops a short block to the west at West Susquehanna Avenue and North 28th Street, next to the Richard R. Wright Elementary School. Fairmount Park sits within a ten-minute walk to the west.
