Permits have been filed for the construction of four three-story single-family buildings at 1109 Earl Street in Fishtown, Kensington. The property is located between East Girard Avenue and East Wildey Street. Permits have also been filed for the demolition of the structure currently located on the site. The property is owned by 1109 Earl Street LLC. RPS Construction is the listed contractor.

The structure currently located at the site is a three-story residential building. Each of the new structures will rise within a height limit of 38 feet and feature a cellar, two parking spaces with access from Wilde Street via a shared driveway, and a roof deck that will be accessed through a pilot house. The buildings at Lot 1, Lot 2, Lot 3, and Lot 4 will span 1,600, 1,660, 1,740, and 1,600 square feet, respectively.

At the corner of East Girard Avenue and Palmer Street, a block north of the property, is the stop of the 15 trolley and the 43 bus. A few blocks to the south is the Penn Treaty Park, located at the waterfront next to the vacant landmark PECO Power Plant that was completed in 1923.
