Permits have been filed for the demolition of a gas station at 9422 Bustleton Avenue in Bustleton (alternately Krewstown), Northeast Philadelphia. The property is located at the western corner of Bustleton Avenue and Grant Avenue. Permits list an earth disturbance area of 2,000 square feet. Bus Properties LLC is the listed owner.
The commercial property consists of a Lukoil gas station and a single-story building for shopping and related services. Interestingly, the documents classify the site as vacant.
Though Bustleton is located within the Philadelphia city limits, it is a thoroughly suburban neighborhood in its layout and function, though one proposed development, Promenade at Upper Dublin, promises to add a dense core to the area. The 19 bus stops in front of the property at the corner. Within a few minutes’ driving distance to the southeast is the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Also on Grant Avenue, to the northwest, is the Grant Plaza Shopping Center with retail and a movie theater. Other shopping centers are located in the vicinity.
