Permits have been filed for a multi-family residential structure at 2016 Master Street in Sharswood, North Philadelphia. Located on the south side of the block between North Ridge Avenue and 21st Street, the structure will span a 1,000-square-foot footprint and feature a cellar and roof access structures. The Philadelphia Housing Authority is the listed owner.
A related permit calls for merging 22 lots (1314 and 1313 North 21st and lots from 2016 through 2054 Master Street) into a single Philadelphia Housing Authority-owned lot, which includes several vacant ground lots and eight vacant three-story buildings, into one large property to that will span most of the block. The permit calls for demolition of the abovementioned structures.
The 33 and 61 buses stop at the corner of Ridge Avenue and Master Street, just down the street from the property to the east. The block just to the south of the property is occupied by the Girard College, which takes up many blocks spanning from Ridge Avenue to West College Avenue. The Girard Station of the SEPTA Broad Street Line and Temple University sit within a 15-minute walk to the northeast.
