A zoning permit has been filed for the construction of a single-family residential structure at 2846 Belgrade Street in Port Richmond, Kensington. The site is located on the north side of the block between East Somerset Street and East Auburn Street. The attached structure’s footprint will span 1,000 square feet. Agim Belulaj and Majlinda Belulaj are the listed owners.

The site is currently occupied by a two-story rowhouse that was evidently built in the prewar period and had received a façade replacement since that time. No demolition permit has yet been filed.

The predominantly residential, prewar neighborhood has seen an uptick in new development over the past few years, and a number of vacant properties on nearby blocks are available for future construction. The site sits within a five- to ten-minute walk of family friendly amenities that include the Richmond Elementary School, Powers Park, Stokley Playground, Cohocksink Recreation Center, and Richmond Library. The 54 bus stops half a block away, and the 15 trolley runs on Aramingo Avenue four blocks to the northwest.
