Construction is progressing at Ludlow 43 at 12-14 South 43rd Street in Spruce Hill, West Philadelphia. The building will rise six stories and 76 feet tall, making it one of the larger buildings in the area. In total, 18 residential units will be included within the building, with eight one-bedrooms, five two-bedroom, three three-bedroom, and two four-bedroom apartments. Also included in the development will be five parking spaces, a fitness center, and a roof deck.
The building will feature a modern exterior comprised of different colored cladding materials. Gray cladding will be the primary material used on the design although lighter gray and white are also present. Dark brickwork will be situated in the ground floor of the building as well as on a column on the northern portion of the building.

The building has been fully framed and topped out for some time. Windows have been installed throughout the exterior, and their large size will allow for plenty natural light to seep into units. Scaffolding rises up the height of the building on its southern face where façade installation will presumably commence soon.

Facade installation has begun in other locations, however, with the gray brickwork appearing on the ground floor of the building as well as on a column on the northern end of the structure. This provides the first look into how the project’s exterior will appear as a finished product, and it stands out well on the block.

Unfortunately, the north face of the building presents a blank wall. In order to fit the density of the project into its small land parcel, developers made use of the full expanse of the lot footprint.
No official completion date is known for the development, although it could occur later this year if the project continues at the current pace.
