Framework is rising rapidly on West & Main, the hotel portion of the larger SORA West development in downtown Conshohocken, PA. Developed by Keystone Property Group, the hotel was initially planned to house 165 rooms, but has since been downsized to 127 rooms, which will still provide a meaningful boost for the town. The hotel is part of the Hilton Tapestry Collection and will hold 3,422 square feet of conference space, a 1,080-square-foot lobby, and a 1,363-square-foot dining facility that will be situated at the second floor of the neighboring historic firehouse.

The hotel will feature a modern exterior comprised mostly of gray cladding that will span the second through sixth floor. The ground floor will create a solid street presence with gray brick and floor-to-ceiling windows fronting the street. Wood-styled cladding will also feature prominently in the design, set in vertical strips on the second through sixth floors, framing the hotel sign. The building fronts a green space that is at the center of the development, with the office high-rise located across the way.

In YIMBY’s previous article, the hotel’s foundations were in progress, with framing yet to begin. Now, steel framework has risen past the ground floor, and the core is ascending toward its pinnacle. All of this progress has occurred since April, signifying that the project is moving along quite quickly. Meanwhile, the neighboring office tower and the parking structure are essentially complete.

Work is still underway on the green space, although Keystone Property Group states that it will be completed in the coming weeks. When finished, the space will provide an open grassy area for workers, residents, and visitors. An open-air amphitheater area will also provide congregation space and allow for hosting live events.

The new hotel will greatly boost Conshohocken’s downtown core, adding more 24/7 activity to the area that will help support surrounding restaurants and businesses. Transit access is offered via regional rail a short walk away.

At the current pace of construction, the hotel will likely be completed some time in 2022.

  1. The fake wood and cheap aluminum panels in the rendering looks very chic. Wish they could’ve redone The Terrace On 18th Street in this fashion. Missed opportunity.
