Foundation work is progressing at the Sora West hotel situated at the corner of Fayette Street and West Elm Street in Downtown Conshohocken. Original plans for the site called for a 165-room hotel, although the project was downsized to 127 rooms. The hotel will be a part of the Hilton Tapestry Collection and will be called West and Main. It will include 3,422 square feet of meeting space, a 1,080-square-foot lobby, and a 1,363-square-foot dining facility on the second floor of the adjacent historic firehouse, which the new hotel will be attached to. The development also includes the construction of a large office structure, which is nearly finished.

The new hotel will boast a modern façade that will surely stand out on the prominent intersection where the structure is located. Gray cladding will be used as the building’s primary material covering the majority of the façade. Additionally, wood-styled cladding will serve as an accent to the design helping the design of the building pop. Large glass windows will be situated throughout the building’s exterior, providing an ample amount of natural light to seep into the structure.

A solid amount of progress has been made to the building since its groundbreaking back in February. Excavation work has continued, with the first signs of a pour also evident at the site.

Also included in the development is a park that will run off of Fayette Street and through the center of the development forming a large pedestrian promenade and green space. With the planned restaurant space, the area will likely become a lively mixed-use area, with the hotel bringing life to the site.  Additionally, many trees will be planted that will also add additional green and shaded space to the area.

Meanwhile, the office component of the development is significantly further along in the construction progress having essentially reached completion on the outside although work is still underway in the interior. The modern, all-glass façade stands over the street, and its location on a hill gives it high visibility around the Conshohocken area.

The hotel is expected to reach completion in the second half of 2022.
