The exterior construction elevator is currently being removed at Arthaus at 311 South Broad Street in Washington Square West, Center City. Earlier this year the tower reached its full height of 542 feet and 47 stories. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Dranoff Properties, the development will offer 108 condominium units and retail space. Construction is nearing completion and the building has already become a prominent addition to the skyline.

At the very beginning of the year, the last residential floor was under construction, with the core having reached near its top. The core eventually topped out just before mid-February and the concrete work was finished by April. The steel parapet was underway by the end of the month, when multiple beams were placed on the north side of the crown. In May, the concrete work had totally wrapped up while the north side podium had topped out. More steel wrapped around the pinnacle, which was finished by June. The facade had reached the top of the tower by the end of August.

The facade on the tower portion is now complete on every face other than the west, which currently still houses the construction hoists. The top three stories of the elevator scaffolding has been taken down from where it once rose above the parapet. Additional cladding has been installed on the west face above the final terrace, giving the tower an even more completed look. The construction elevator is still attached to the tower, but the temporary structure will presumably come down in the upcoming new year.

The building’s anticipated completion is May 2022.

  1. Good news is that we can safely assume that the interior work has progressed enough for the internal elevators to be operational.

Bonus shot of the Laurel at Rittenhouse Square is looking good.
