YIMBY Looks Back at Arthaus Rising Into the Philadelphia Skyline

The 542-foot-tall, 47-story, 108-unit Arthaus condominium at has recently completed construction at 311 South Broad Street on the Avenue of the Arts in Center City, becoming the most recent addition to the Philadelphia skyline. Replacing several prewar buildings and a parking lot, world renowned architects Kohn Pedersen Fox originally designed the tower in a different style and brand nearly a decade ago. With the revival and change of plans, the tower went from a hotel to a condo after Dranoff Properties acquired the property. The project, formerly known as the SLS International Hotel, dominates the skyline to the southeast of the main cluster of Center City skyscrapers.

Occupancy Imminent at Arthaus in Washington Square West, Center City

In Washington Square West, Arthaus at 311 South Broad Street has become the latest addition to the Philadelphia skyline. The nearly completed tower rises to a height of 542 feet and 47 stories and will feature 108 condominium units, along with ample amenity space and retail. The building, which stand somewhat apart from the main Center City skyline, was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, which has also crafted buildings such as the BNY Mellon Center and One Vanderbilt, and developed by Dranoff Properties.

Decorative Lighting Spotted On Top Of Arthaus In Washington Square West, Center City

The nighttime Philadelphia skyline is getting brighter as new additions join the existing cluster of towers. In the Washington Square West West neighborhood of Center City, the new condominium skyscraper, Arthaus, rises at 311 South Broad Street, joining the rest of the Center City towers at a height of 542 feet and 47 stories. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (with Arthaus being the firm’s first residential skyscraper in the city) and developed by Dranoff Properties, the tower will feature 108 condominiums along with amenity space that includes a pool and outdoor decks.
