Permits have been filed for the construction of a building at 1906 Bainbridge Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia. 1906 Bainbridge LLC is listed as the owner. Located near the corner of Bainbridge and 19th Street, the building will feature a roof deck and two roof deck access structures, looking out onto the Philadelphia skyline. There will also be a rear deck at the second floor. The building will sit on a site of an existing building that is awaiting demolition, and for which permits were also filed in recent days.
While specifics on the site are lacking, the demolition permits that have already been approved were filed for a residential building, and the zoning permit is for a commercial structure. In combination with the application for a rear deck on the second floor, it seems plausible the site could give rise to a commercial space with an outdoor rooftop venue.
The development site sits on a quaint, tree-lined rowhouse block at the junction of the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood to the north and Graduate Hospital to the south. No estimated completion date has yet been announced.
