Demolition permits have been filed for an abandoned three-story rowhouse located at 4136 Lancaster Avenue in the Haverford North neighborhood in West Philadelphia. The boarded-up red brick building is located near the corner of Lancaster Avenue and Parrish Avenue. 4041 Corp is the listed owner.
Lancaster Avenue is a lively commercial street packed with small businesses, shops, and eateries. The 10 trolley, the 43 bus, and two-way bike lanes offer direct transit access. The property is also located five blocks to the east of the Mill Creek Playground at the corner of Brown Street and North 47th Street, which features a swimming pool and a softball field.
The ongoing construction in nearby University City is a major factor in the ongoing surge in building permit filings along the Lansaster Avenue corridor, notably in the Mantua neighborhood to the east.
