Permits have been filed for the construction of a multi-family structure at 2524 North 9th Street in Glenwood, North Philadelphia. The new structure will rise on a large vacant lot at the corner of North 9th Street and Cadwallader Street and will span a 2,584-square-foot footprint. The property is owned by Real Builders LLC.
The building will be a substantial new addition to a neighborhood dominated by single-family rowhouses. According to the documents, the attached structure will include features that are rare for the area, such as multiple roof decks and balconies. The building will dramatically change the block that predominantly features prewar structures.
The sits sits a block away from Germantown Avenue, which houses many businesses as well as cultural and educational facilities. Veterans Playground also sits a block to the south. The Temple University commuter rail station sits within a 15-minute walk to the south, with Temple University located within a further five-minute walk to the west.
