Permits have been filed for the demolition of a vacant two-story prewar rowhouse at 1501 South Stanley Street in Grays Ferry, South Philadelphia. The former single-family dwelling is located on the southeast corner of South Stanley Street and Dickinson Street and will be torn down as part of the City of Philadelphia Demolition Program at a cost of $19,980. The property is owned by Lewis Real Estate Developers. The contractor listed for the work is Mangual Demolition Inc.

The brick-clad structure features projecting green-painted sections with gable roofs. The entrance and most of the windows on the first floor are boarded up. No sidewalk work will be carried out.

The 29 bus stops at the corner of Tasker Street and South 30th Street one block to the east. Lanier Dog Park, D. Finnegan Playground, Stinger Park, James Alcorn School, and Universal Audenried Charter School all sit within a five- to ten-minute walk of the property.
