The area to the west of the 30th Street Station in University City, West Philadelphia, is expanding significantly, where the 14-acre Schuylkill Yards project is underway. 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, the latest tower rising in the area, has reached a new milestone as curtain wall assembly has begun. Designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, the skyscraper will rise to a height of 361 feet and 28 stories.

Six years ago, a placeholder model and a collection of renderings (including a supertall) were revealed to show the ambitious project Brandywine planned to achieve. In the summer of 2019, official renderings of the two office towers and Bulletin Building renovation were shown, stunning the Philadelphia skyscraper enthusiast community. With permits submitted and approved in late 2020, a fence was erected around the site, and the groundbreaking took place in early March of last year. Over the next few months, excavation turned the site into a rectangular pit with the east face angled. The tower had started rising from the mat slab in November, and the podium was being assembled rapidly in Spring.

With the transition towards the upcoming floor plates shrinking in size, work has slightly slowed down throughout the month to tie the two sections together. Currently the tenth floor, the first residential floor, is under construction just above the ninth floor, which stands 138 feet high. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one, was discovered on a recent site visit as the metal and glass facade was underway. The first office and lab floor above the lobby and retail space was fully clad, other than the temporary elevator space, with the next floor commencing.

An on-site sign states that the building will be completed by September 2023.
