Permits have been issued for the construction of a 21-unit multi-family building at 3519 Haverford Avenue in MantuaWest Philadelphia. Designed by KCA Design Associates, the new building will rise six stories tall (with a maximum height of 57 feet) and span 25,441 square feet. Interior parking space will be included for four cars (one spot being ADA and van accessible) and 10 bicycles.

The development is replacing a currently vacant lot. Numerous such lots have been redeveloped with modern infill in Mantua alone. The increase in population and density in the neighborhood has been fantastic in recent years, adding needed residential space in such close proximity to University City.

Moving forward, hopefully many of the other remaining vacant properties in the neighborhood will see similar development and help further densify and grow the area. Given the prime location of Mantua in regards to transit, universities, and employment centers, it is very likely that there will be continued construction activity moving forward.

No completion date is known for the project at this time.
