Construction is progressing on the Live! Casino and Hotel at 900 Packer Avenue in the Sports Complex district in South Philadelphia. Developed by The Cordish Companies and Greenwood Racing and Entertainment and designed by Bower Lewis Thrower Architects, Philadelphia’s second casino will feature 1.5 million square feet of space and will generate over $2 billion in annual economic impact. The three-story casino will offer 2,200 slot machines and over 125 live action table games, and the 215-foot-tall, 14-story high-rise will feature 215 rooms overlooking Citizens Bank Park, the Philadelphia International Airport, the Delaware River and the city skyline.
A few weeks ago it was revealed that Guy Fieri will be opening two dining establishments in the casino section of the building, promising to make Downtown into Flavortown.

Not much progress has been visible on the exterior of the building since the last YIMBY update. Cladding installation is nearly complete at the casino portion and the hotel tower’s façade is complete, with stone lining the angled crown. Three months ago, the red logo for the Live! Casino and Hotel was installed on the west side of the crown with the east side still bare. The future construction timeline remains uncertain, but it is likely that by 2021, the construction elevator will come down and the exterior will be complete.

The building is anticipating a completion date in 2021.
