University City, the central hub of West Philadelphia, is teeming with new under-construction developments. Of these, one of the most significant is the 361-foot-tall, 28-story mixed-use tower currently rising at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, the building will span a total of 559,583 square feet of interior space, combining commercial space on the lower floors with 326 residential floors situated above. Today YIMBY looks at imagery of the development’s proposed amenity space, both indoor and outdoor.

The first Schuylkill Yards skyscraper now officially rises above ground at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in University City. The tower, also known as Schuylkill Yards West, is sited just to the northwest of Drexel Square. Designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, the high-rise will eventually reach 361 feet and 28 stories in height, and will consist of 326 residential units and lab space. The structure is a part of the 14-acre mega-project that will change the West Philadelphia skyline, and is the latest phase in the project’s construction since the renovation of the Bulletin Building.

The building will offer a mix of residential and commercial space, the latter being optimized for lab use. The project is also known as Schuylkill Yards West for its placement compared to the proposed skyscraper to the east at 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, the building will rise at a total height of 361 feet and 28 stories. The skyscraper is also known as Schuylkill Yards West for its placement compared to the proposed skyscraper to the east at 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Groundbreaking Imminent at Schuylkill Yards West at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in University City, West Philadelphia

The team behind Schuylkill Yards West at 3025 John F. Kennedy has announced that a groundbreaking has been scheduled for March. The 361-foot-tall, 28-story tower will be the first of the skyscrapers planned at the 14-acre Schuylkill Yards megaproject, which is developed by Brandywine Realty Trust. The building was designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, which has also designed the vibrant red 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard that will rise to the east. The building will house retail and 326 residential units, which will be serviced by a large amenity terrace. The building will also feature office and lab space on the podium floors.
