A five-story, 49-unit residential building has been proposed for 909-19 North 26th Street in Brewerytown, North Philadelphia. The structure will replace a single-story commercial structure and a three-story townhouse. The new building will feature a traditionally styled exterior with a brick façade, arched windows at the fourth floor, and a cornice at the top. Loggia balconies will add a contemporary element to the composition.
The site sits two short blocks west of the campus of the Girard College, an imposing space with grand neoclassical structures. The 15 trolley stop sits down the block to the south at Poplar Street and North 26th Street. Robert Morris School sits two blocks to the north. Fairmount Park along the banks of the Schuylkill River sits within a ten-minute walk to the west.
