Philly YIMBY Launches Its First Anniversary Countdown by Looking at Rittenhouse Square and Brewerytown

A year ago, the start of August marked the launch of Philadelphia YIMBY. We were excited to extend New York YIMBY’s years-long legacy of covering architecture, construction, and development to the City of Brotherly Love. Since that time, our staff has shared over 1,000 articles, covering a wide variety of topics that were cataloged into more than 1,800 categories. In celebration of Philly YIMBY’s first anniversary, we look at our most frequently tagged categories in a month-long series of articles that will run as a countdown that starts with the 31th most-popular category and will run until it hits number one. Exterior work is wrapping up on Brübox, a 33-unit mixed-use development situated at 3120 Jefferson Street in BrewerytownNorth Philadelphia. Designed by Coscia Moos Architecture and developed by Khosla Properties, the building rises five stories tall with a commercial space situated on the ground floor. The residential units consist of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Tester Construction is the contractor.

Construction Underway On The Bordeaux In Brewerytown

Construction is underway at The Bordeaux, a 16-unit mixed-use development at 2600 West Gerard Avenue in BrewerytownNorth Philadelphia. Upon completion, the building will rise five stories tall with a 3,500 square foot retail space in the ground floor. Amenities will include bike and tenant storage as well as a roof deck that will likely offer sweeping skyline views. Argo Property Group is developing the property.  The design was by Ambit Architecture and it will be built by  Tester Construction. In total, the building will have 20,938 square feet of space.

Permits have been issued for the construction of a four-story, 17-unit multi-family development at 1502-08 North 25th Street in BrewerytownNorth Philadelphia. The building will include a basement, a green roof, and a roof deck, which will likely offer sweeping views of the skyline. The structure will hold 4,700 square feet of space and cost an estimated $1,885,000 to build, according to the permit.
