Permits have been issued for the construction of a five-story mixed-use structure at 101 West Oxford Street in Fishtown, Kensington, near the border of Olde Kensington, North Philadelphia. The 51,785-square-foot structure will yield 35 apartments, along with ground-floor commercial space, parking, and resident storage in the basement. A roof deck will be located atop the building, as well as a green roof that allows for a density bonus. Chatham Bay Construction Services is the listed contractor. Construction costs are estimated at $6 million.

The 12,363-square-foot property sits at the northwest corner of Front Street and West Oxford Street. It is likely that the commercial space on the ground floor will be located at Front Street, as it is a busy commercial corridor. The building will replace a vacant two-story commercial property and a parking lot.

The site is located between the Girard and Berks stops on the Market-Frankford SEPTA Line, which will offer a quick commute to Center City and University City.

No completion date has been announced.

  1. Only 3 blocks from Berks and 4 blocks from Girard.
Technically, you could walk to Center City on a nice day.

    What about parking?
