A rendering has been revealed for a five-unit multi-family development at 2628-32 Webster Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia. Designed by DesignBlendz, the building will rise four stories tall. The development was recently approved by the zoning board, helping clear its way for construction.
The building will feature an attractive, modern exterior comprised of differently colored cladding. Tan brick will cover the majority of the façade, rising from the first to third floors. White cladding will be located on the fourth floor, while black cladding at the cornice at the corner will serve as an accent.
The new building is replacing a vacant lot, one of a few still remaining on the block. Neighbors used the site as a makeshift parking lot, with cars parked on gravel and grass. All round the site, other vacant lots have been traded for new townhomes and multi-family buildings, increasing the population of the area.
The new development is a solid boost for the neighborhood, replacing a bland vacant property with a modern multi-family building. Adding six residential units on a property formerly occupied by zero is a great density boost for the booming neighborhood.
No completion date is known for the project at this time, though construction may be finished by 2022 or 2023.
