Interior work has recently been completed at the Bulletin Building at 3025 Market Street in University City, West Philadelphia. The building, which is the first structure within the Schuylkill Yards complex, rises nearly 100 feet above the ground and stands five stories tall, with a new modern exterior and freshly renovated floor space. The building renovation was designed by KieranTimberlake and the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, with the latter also having designed Schuylkill Yards’ first skyscrapers, Schuylkill Yards East at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Schuylkill Yards West at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Brandywine Realty Trust is the developer for both the building and the entire 14-acre complex.

In the last update on the squat structure, progress was not directly noticeable as the only work that was going on took place inside the building. The new red metal cladding and the blue glass with letters and numbers randomly scattered around the new panes of glass have been fitting in with the neighborhood well, as the public is getting used to the structure’s new appearance and the new adjacent park called Drexel Square. Looking at the interiors from the outside, it was noticeable that they have not yet been completed as construction lighting was still visible inside the structure.

Our recent visit revealed that the building has been completed. Red metal cladding glimmers in the sunlight for multiple hours every day, mostly in the early hours. Looking closely at the interior of the building from the outside, it appears that the space for tenant Spark Thereputics has been finished. At ground level, signage for Spark Thereputics has been installed and the entire first floor is now free of barriers that were previously blocking the entrance. The space that is designated for retail is also ready for occupation.

  1. The Bulletin Building is a great point of entry to Schuylkill Yards where all are greeted by this 1950s version of Art Deco until it was renovated into its present shape with a nice park in front to replace the parking lot.

Hopefully the rest of Schuylkill Yards yet to be built buildings will add to the shine of Schuylkill Yards for many decades to come.

  2. When will the old Bulletin building be open?
