Permits have been issued for a three-story single-family residential project at 2211 West Thompson Street in Cecil B. Moore, North Philadelphia. The project calls for the construction of an attached structure on a vacant parcel fronting West Thompson Street. Records list the Civetta Property Group as the property owner. Architectural plans were prepared by Moto Designshop. Spruce Builders LLC is identified as the contractor.

Elevation drawings show a brick-clad front facade with subtle architectural articulation, which includes shallow pilasters and trim elements projecting slightly from the building face. The structure will rise directly from the property line and will feature vertically aligned windows across all three levels. A recessed ground-floor entry is positioned along the right side of the facade and will be accessed by exterior steps. A low parapet will cap the building, which will maintaining a scale and streetwall consistent with adjacent three-story rowhouses.

No construction timeline has yet been announced.

  1. The 2200 block of W. Thompson St., along with the surrounding area, is quickly transitioning. There have been a ton of demolitions and much new construction and rehab. The site is just two blocks south of Philadelphia Housing Authority’s massive mixed income Sharswood redevelopment, a few blocks east of burgeoning Brewerytown, and a few blocks north of long gentrified Fairmount and Girard Avenue’s attractive commercial district.

    The neighborhood is an increasingly appealing place to live.
