A rendering has been revealed for a mixed-use development at 2331-33 East York Street in Olde Richmond, Kensington. Upon completion, the building will rise three stories tall, matching the height of its prewar neighbors. A restaurant will be located on the ground floor, with four residential units above. The structure recently obtained a variance necessary for its construction.
Permits have been issued for the construction of a mixed-use building at 2653-61 Salmon Street in Olde Richmond, Kensington. The development will include the renovation of the existing structure as well as a new addition. The building will stand two stories tall and hold eight residential units, with a total of 14,195 square feet of floor space and an estimated construction cost of $900,000.
This year has seen a steady stream of construction filings around Kensington, mostly in the lowrise, small-scale category. In a sign of accelerating growth of the local real estate market, developer Greenpointe Construction, Inc. is proposing a seven-story, 150-unit residential structure at 2400 East Huntingdon Street, designed by KCA Design Associates. At approximately 85 feet in height, the building will be the tallest in the Olde Richmond neighborhood, and one of the area’s largest apartment buildings at 122,500 total square feet. The complex will also include 11,900 square feet of retail and a garage for 45 vehicles.
