Philly YIMBY’s recent site visit has revealed that construction of foundations is underway at a nine-unit townhouse complex at 316-20 South 11th Street in Washington Square West, Center City. Although construction permits have been filed in November, our recent site visit has revealed that construction work has not yet begun on the development. According to permits, all nine buildings will be fairly similar, if not altogether identical. Each will span a 1,241-square-foot footprint and offer 4,589 square feet of space, which would make for a regal interior in any part of the city, let alone such a centrally located one. The development will replace a vacant lot on the west side of the block between West Clearfield Street and West Allegheny Avenue. Designed by Designblendz, the building will span 20,351 square feet and will include a utility cellar, a roof deck, and parking for five cars and ten bicycles. The new structure will replace a vacant lot situated on the southern corner of Wayne Avenue and West Abbottsford Avenue. Completion Approaches at One Dock Street in Society Hill, Old City

Philadelphia YIMBY recently visited One Dock Street, a 364-foot-tall, 31-story high-rise under construction in the Society Hill section of Old City in Center City, to document finishing touches going up at the skyline-altering tower. Designed by BLT Architects and developed by LCOR Incorporated, the tower rises near the Delaware River waterfront and close to architect I.M. Pei‘s similarly-scaled Society Hill Towers. The structure will span over 300,000 square feet of interior space and feature 272 rental units. Permits list Hunter Roberts Holdings LLC as the contractor and specify a construction cost of $66.55 million.
