Permits have been filled for the construction of a single-family structure at 1537 South Bambrey Street in the Grays Ferry neighborhood of South Philadelphia. The new building will replace an empty overgrown lot near the corner of South Bambery and Tasker streets. The property is owned by Standard Development LLC.
The building will fill a gap between two two-story rowhouses on the east side of South Bambery Street. The structure will include a roof deck and access pilot house.
The property sits within a dense residential neighborhood. The block-sized lot at 2500 Reed Street to the north is a garden with around 400 planted beds. The Universal Alcorn Middle Years Academy for middle-schoolers sits a block further north.
