Permits have been filed for the construction of a mixed-use structure at 2327 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown, Kensington. The building will include a cellar, a commercial space on the ground floor, two residences on the floors above, a rear deck at the second story, and a roof deck at the top. The overall structure, including the roof access pilot house, is not to exceed 48 feet in height. The property is under the ownership of Kazantzis Athena.

The structure will rise from a slender vacant lot nestled between two three-story structures and will occupy a footprint of 1,520 square feet. The property is located near the intersection of Trenton Avenue and Frankford Avenue, a thoroughfare that stretches from Northern Liberties in Philadelphia all the way to Torresdale, Pennsylvania. The avenue is home to a number of small businesses and restaurants as well as the XVJC+FV bus route.

One block to the northeast sits the Horatio B. Hackett School at 2161 East York Street, situated within an unusual, circular structure. Konrad Square sits two blocks to the south, offering green space with trees, benches, tables, and a memorial near the corner of East Dauphin Street and Sepviva Street.
