The 2nd place on Philadelphia YIMBY’s December Countdown December 2021 Development Countdown goes to The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer and the Hunter Roberts Construction Group as the contractor, the building now stands 599 feet and 48 stories tall, making it the ninth-tallest skyscraper in Philadelphia and the tallest residential building in Center City. The all-residential building will offer 185 rental units and 64 luxury condominiums.

The cross-braced steel parapet is being erected at the top of The Laurel Rittenhouse, a high-rise building under construction at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. The tower is designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with Hunter Roberts Construction Group as the contractor and the Harman Group responsible for structural engineering. Located at just across the street from Rittenhouse Square Park, the tower now reaches the top of the parapet, rising 599 feet high and 48 stories tall. The development will feature 185 rental units and 60 luxury condominiums.

Concrete Work Nearly Finished at The Laurel Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

Concrete work has been largely completed at The Laurel Rittenhouse, a luxury residential tower under construction at 1911 Walnut Street just to the north of Rittenhouse Square Park in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer and the Hunter Roberts Construction Group as the contractor, the skyscraper rises to an impressive height of 599 feet and 48 stories (with two additional mechanical floors). The building will house 185 rental units along with 60 condominiums.

Philadelphia YIMBY Observes Views from the Top of The Laurel Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

Nearly a month ago, The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City, celebrated its topping out with a commemorative event. Designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz and developed by Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer, the tower rises 48 stories tall and 599 feet, with additional two floors of mechanical space The parapet that will soon be constructed will reach 593 feet. The building will house 185 rental apartments and 60 luxury condominium units in the upper portion. On September 28th, a topping out ceremony was held on the 47th floor of The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer, the tower now stands at its final height of 599 feet and 48 stories. The building stands prominently in the Philadelphia skyline over the course of this year and is now clearly visible from the southern direction. The building will include 185 rental units and 64 luxury condominiums, as well as amenity space, retail, and an Equinox gym for residents.

Concrete Core Topped Out at The Laurel Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

The concrete structure has topped out at The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Developed by the Southern Land Company and designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz, a team that is also collaborating on a residential tower underway nearby at 1620 Sansom Street, The Lauren Rittenhouse rises just to the northwest of Rittenhouse Square Park. The building already stands 49 stories tall, and will shortly rise to its final planned height of 599 feet. The development will feature 185 rental units and 64 luxury condominiums.

Architecture Firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz Comes In at Number 23 on Philly YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown

Philadelphia YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown, which looks at the most frequently mentioned article categories over the course of the past year, finds architecture firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz at number 23 out of the more than 1,800 analyzed categories, with a total of 34 tags amassed during the period. The company, which is (spoiler alert) the only architecture firm to feature in the entire Countdown, owes its high ranking to both a large number of significant ongoing developments and our prolific coverage of such.

Last Year’s December Development Countdown Ranks at Number 24 on Philly YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown

We apologize for the somewhat confusing headline. Philadelphia YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown tracks the most frequently mentioned article categories over the course of the past year. Last year’s December Development Countdown, which looked at the 31 tallest buildings under construction or proposed in the city, racked up 31 category listings during its month-long run, earning it the 24th place on the ongoing countdown. Today we look at the top three entries from the December Countdown, all located in Center City, and check in on the progress they have made so far in 2021.
