Permits Issued for Construction of Single-Family Residence at 2127 Kimball Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story single-family rowhouse at 2127 Kimball Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia. The new structure will replace a vacant lot situated on the north side of the block between South 21st and South 22nd streets. The development will offer 1,640 square feet of interior space and feature a basement and a roof deck. The project team is comprised of HDG Developers as the owner, Gnome Architects as the designer, and Lapstone LLC as the contractor.

Graduate Hospital Takes the 26th Place on Philly YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown

The 26th place on Philadelphia YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown, which tallies the 31 most frequently listed article categories over the course of the past year, goes to Graduate Hospital, a neighborhood located in South Philadelphia that aggregated 30 category mentions during the period. The charming, pedestrian-friendly district continues to expand its real estate offerings largely via new low- and mid-rise residential construction. Many of the new buildings target an upmarket clientele and thus feature elaborate, high-end architectural design.

Philadelphia YIMBY Presents Massing Renderings of Two New CHOP Towers

A month ago, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia unveiled two new towers that are part of a $3.4 billion plan that will add considerable bulk to the University City skyline in West Philadelphia. On the University City side, the University-City-Tower at the presumed address 3401 Civic Center Boulevard will rise across the street from the CHOP Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care at 3500 Civic Center Boulevard. On the Southwest Center City side, 690 Schuylkill Avenue will stand to the northeast of the CHOP Robert’s Center for Advanced Research as the tower, right next to the iconic South Street Bridge.

Permits Filed for 1939 Bainbridge Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia

Zoning permits have been filed at 1939 Bainbridge Street in the Graduate Hospital (alternately Southwest Center City) in South Philadelphia. The proposed four-story building will be sandwiched in a row of homes near the corner of 20th Street, replacing a three-story prewar rowhome. The document describes the proposed building as a family dwelling with rear decks and a roof deck with an enclosed stair access tower. MCG Investments 1939 Bain is listed as the owner.
